The competition for the digital logistics prize at the Future Congress Logistics in Dortmund, which is specifically focused on IT solutions, differs slightly from, for example, the Swiss Logistics Award. Seven finalists were given three minutes to present their solutions.
LHoF Medal for Medical Corps
The first Lynn C. Fritz Medal for exceptional achievements in humanitarian logistics will be awarded at the International Logistics Hall of Fame gala to the US aid organization Medical Corps for its self-developed "Pharmaceutical Information Management System" (PIMS) for managing the last mile of drug deliveries to disaster areas.

Using the power suit on the offensive
With more effective freight handling, greater workplace safety and AI-based exoskeletons for industry, logistics, and relief for hospitals, nursing homes and rehabilitation clinics, the exoskeleton manufacturer German Bionic is currently advertising in Munich, Düsseldorf and Ulm.
The goal is 35,000 visitors
on the success of the "Corona year" to build 29,885 visitors came to Bern despite the pandemic. This year, the "carrosserie," "transport," and "aftermarket" trade fairs will again take place simultaneously, from November 8th to 11th at the Bernexpo exhibition center.
Learning aid for humans and "AI"
The Fraunhofer IML's Future Congress, taking place on September 12th and 13th, is themed "Logistics goes AI." Participating organizations include IML and Digital Hub Logistics, as well as the Lamarr Institute for Machine Learning and the Open Logistics Foundation. Successful models such as Julian Hinxlage's "CV on Edge" will be presented.
Application period for IFOY 2024 now open
After the IFOY comes the next IFOY. The application portal for the International Forklift and Intralogistics Competition 2024 is now open until October 30th on the familiar online platform. The test days and camp will take place from April 8th to 11th.
Electrification in freight transport

Many companies are ready to invest here, but still face challenges. On Wednesday, September 20th, a Lean & Green event hosted by GS1 and led by Jan Eberle in Zurich will focus on charging infrastructure for electrified freight transport.
Networking instead of surrendering
The challenges are considerable, says Thomas Wimmer, Chairman of the Board of the German Logistics Association (BVL). Decarbonization, digitalization and AI, skills shortages and resilience in supply chains are on the agenda at the Logistics Congress in Berlin from the 18th to the 20th.

Not one for loud pronouncements, but always with a smile and nonetheless successful: Peter Kazander, for many years the guarantor of success of LogiMAT in Stuttgart as its trade fair director, is retiring at 67. Of course, once again only "in stages." He will continue to oversee the LogiMAT branch in China.
"Goldfish bowl" instead of shark tank
Participants and guests rated the Transfer Festival, organized for the first time this year in the run-up to the IFOY awards ceremony by Digital.Hub Logistics and Fraunhofer IML, as a resounding success. The networking event preceding the festival took place in the institute's nearby halls.
A dazzling IFOY finale 2023
The closing gala and awards ceremony of the IFOY Awards at the Dortmund U provided ample opportunity for Agilox, Crown, DS Automotion, Hunic, and Still to bask in the recognition of their successful development work and innovations. Jungheinrich celebrated two top placements.

Eight companies were awarded the Swiss Packaging Prize at a ceremony in Aarau during the 2023 Swiss Packaging Awards. Leading the pack was "Echovai" with its thermally hardened lightweight glass container, and Mibelle with a plastic bottle made from marine waste.
