SSI subsidiary continues to consistently rely on SAP
Since 2021, the software specialists at SWAN have been part of the SSI Schäfer Group, responsible for the SAP projects of the globally active intralogistics experts and supporting companies in implementing future-proof solutions – from highly automated distribution centers to integrated production logistics. The course is right.
SSI strengthens Sweden's Coop
With the opening of one of Europe's largest automated distribution centers in Eskilstuna, SSI Schaefer is supporting Swedish supermarket Coop with its 95% automated order picking process for supplying over 800 stores. Before the project began, the company's logistics were largely manual.
Sereact acquires Körber
Sereact and Körber Supply Chain have embarked on a joint project at a German mechanical engineering company. Sereact's AI-based pick and place technology assists with individual part picking and is intended to be the beginning of a strategic collaboration.
Carina Tüllmann swears by OLF
Previously, she served as COO – now she's embarking on a new chapter as Chief Commercial Officer and Managing Director of the Open Logistics Foundation (OLF). A reflection, she says, of how both the foundation (and, of course, her role) have grown.
Train on AI in good time
Many companies haven't heard the "shot" yet. A study predicts that AI training will be essential for employees to remain successful, as AI applications are set to double within the next 12 months. Time to get moving.
Test operation without interference potential
SSI Schäfer is currently launching a “ WAMAS Emulation Center ” which, using software on a test server, not only models warehouse operations but also maps the PLC control of all systems and the entire system behavior with the highest accuracy.

TGW with its own WERX software
TGW uses the intelligent WERX software platform as a central element and also leverages artificial intelligence to minimize manual intervention. Integrated systems also enable the seamless combination of full-case and split-case picking.
Uniform data basis
By placing the order for the comprehensive release upgrade of the warehouse management system WAMAS, SSI Schäfer, in partnership with Coop, is consistently focusing on a homogeneous, future-proof software landscape in Switzerland, Poland, Romania and Germany.
Out of the experimental stage
An integrated AI developed by Sereact gives robots visual and motor skills that enable them to recognize, interpret, and act independently in their environment. This includes the seven pick-and-place robots that recently went to the 3PL company DeltiLog.
IFOY: Witching hour at the ramp
The countdown to the International Forklift and Intralogistics of the Year (IFOY) Award (award ceremony on July 3) is on. Results from the test week in Dortmund, for example, also yielded interesting ratings for the nomination of an AI-supported system combining freight measurement and automated scheduling called aluco STRIX .
Fast implementation

To provide easy and quick access to modern warehouse software that can also grow with future requirements, SSI Schäfer is launching a new software product category for small and medium-sized enterprises and projects of medium complexity: WAMAS Entry-Level Solutions.
Strategic expansion

SAP specialist SWAN aims to set new standards in SAP logistics consulting. Therefore, it has appointed Matthias Martens as an additional managing director to integrate solutions for lean and partially automated logistics in the SAP S/4HANA environment.
Withstand the capers of world politics

Anyone who doesn't know what's going on in the minds of dictators and semi-criminal government leaders must be able to react quickly. Whether tariffs or extreme weather events: global supply chains can break within days. Anyone who wants to hold their ground should invest in digitizing their supply chain.
Traditional systems at their limits

Pick-and-place robots are often used for automation in high-throughput production environments. However, conventional systems are usually tailored to specific product sizes and shapes. AI can help them operate even in challenging situations.
Small companies also at risk

In the run-up to transport logistic, which takes place from June 2nd to 5th, the German Logistics Association (BVL) and Messe München have once again published an English-language white paper addressing "Cybersecurity in Supply Chains " The conclusion: Those who take precautions are less likely to be attacked.

The Stuttgart-based intralogistics specialist is joining the OPC Foundation, whose standard, approved by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), is considered the backbone of industrial communication and a central component of Industry 4.0.
