SSI subsidiary continues to consistently rely on SAP
November 25, 2025
Since 2021, the software specialists at SWAN have been part of the SSI Schäfer Group, responsible for the SAP projects of the globally active intralogistics experts and supporting companies in implementing future-proof solutions – from highly automated distribution centers to integrated production logistics. The course is right.
A. Bernhard, M. Martens
After half a year of joint management by managing directors Alexander Bernhard and Matthias Martens, SWAN GmbH draws a positive conclusion: The company intends to consistently expand its service portfolio within the operational SAP Digital Supply Chain (SAP DSC) suite – supported by an interdisciplinary team .
“Technology only works if it’s understandable to users – that’s why we translate complex SAP processes into practical, intuitive solutions,” says Matthias Martens, explaining the SWAN approach. Numerous references, such as the implementation of SAP EWM at Migros Eastern Switzerland and Triumph AG, based in Bad Zurzach, confirm this successful approach.
In-house product development
The "Products & Innovation" department, founded in 2024, has since grown into the "Products, Innovation & Technology" division. In addition to developing its own products, the team implements future-proof customer solutions in accordance with SAP specifications – for example, through clean-core-compliant architectures or integrations on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The team also researches AI applications in logistics.
Despite challenging conditions, the willingness to embrace digitalization in logistics remains high. At the same time, competent consulting and guidance are in demand. The SAP logistics landscape is more complex than ever; in addition to the discontinuation of older logistics modules such as SAP Warehouse Management and SAP LE-TRA, new modules have recently been introduced, including SAP Logistics Management.

At the same time, the company is expanding its presence with new, larger office spaces in Walldorf, Dortmund, and Graz. In addition to staff growth at its branches, SWAN is internationalizing, supporting its customers in global rollouts and cloud transformation projects, and strategically developing new regions such as Eastern Europe and North America.
At seven locations in Germany and Austria, SWAN experts implement innovative SAP projects in logistics, production and transport – from planning and integration to live operation.
Founded in 2011, SWAN now employs over 160 people and claims to cultivate working culture based on the "New-Way-of-Working" principle of being " agile, self-reliant and flexible " .
