Conclusion with important highlights
A total of 3,029 visitors were counted over the two days of the concurrently held "Logistics & Automation 2024" and "Empack" events in Hall 3.0 of Bernexpo. While the 3,621 visitors from the previous year could not be matched, the high quality of exhibitors and industry participants was clearly praised.
A big stage for logistics in Bern
With 176 exhibitors showcasing state-of-the-art technology, the most important market players in Switzerland and international connections, Logistics & Automation and Empack are well-prepared at the BernExpo opening – and the thanks of event manager Stefan Vögele to the trade fair team are well-founded.

Attractive combination
Compact palletizer
At the trade fair duo "Empack" and "Logistics & Automation," there are companies that benefit in multiple ways from the synergies between packaging and transport systems offered by intralogistics specialists. In an interview, "Productus" CEO Andreas Harb explains why – and outlines his company's strategic dual presence.

Strict hygiene requirements

Food handling is subject to strict criteria. Cleanliness and hygiene are paramount; the conveying systems used must be resistant to heat, cold, germs, and chemicals. Frei Fördertechnik meets these stringent requirements.
“Immersive” instead of just 3D planning

CES, which began today in Las Vegas, is primarily a trade show for consumer electronics. However, with 3,200 exhibitors, it's one of the most influential of all. At the opening, Siemens CEO Roland Busch promised to better align future digital worlds with real-world production conditions.
Adaptability as a success factor
Easily adaptable components, a modular basic design, and a system technology based on a building block principle are fundamental prerequisites for flexible systems. These topics will also be addressed at LogiMAT and in corresponding focus areas within the supporting program from March 19 to 21 in Stuttgart.
“Sevensense” celebrates in Paris
2nd place for «Sevensense»
In the end, it was "only" enough for second place – but an honorable nomination and narrowly missing the podium of the European Logistics Award for this year's winners of the Swiss Logistics Award, the robotics start-up "Sevensense". Reason enough for the Swiss team to celebrate in Paris.
LogiMAT is active in «robotics»
LogiMAT, Europe's largest robotics trade fair, will return to Stuttgart from March 19 to 21, 2024, and is expanding its robotics offerings. For the first time, there will be a dedicated user forum for automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous driving systems (AMRs), which will be presented in five thematic blocks in Hall 6.
Keeping an eye on accident risks
In 1986, Schweizerhalle was considered one of the most dangerous places in the world due to a major fire at a chemical plant. "Today, it's one of the safest places in Switzerland," says Christian Pauli, Managing Director of the Swiss Association for Temperature-Controlled Logistics (SVTL). Certainly the right place for an event focusing on the Major Accident Hazard Ordinance and occupational safety.
Looking to the future of packaging
Over 90% of trade fair visitors found Empack, which took place in Zurich in 2023 in conjunction with Logistics & Distribution, to be recommendable. And they also recommend the industry platform taking place again in Bern on January 24th and 25th. The packaging industry is shaping its future.
Disaster relief networking
For an insightful premiere, the International Logistics Hall of Fame gathered more than 60 top-class international experts for a humanitarian supply chain conference “ConnectChains” at the German Ministry of Transport on the day before the gala of the “Hall of Fame of Logistics”.
World-class in both technical and humanitarian terms
This year's induction into the International Hall of Fame of the transportation world was anything but a random selection process. Alongside AutoStore inventors Jakob Hatteland and Ingvar Hognaland, the honorees included Axel Frey, Harry Seifert, and the US aid organization International Medical Corps.
Kaleidoscope of innovative ideas

More than 160 exhibitors have already registered for the Swiss (intra-)logistics trade fair "Logistics & Automation 2024" and for "Empack" in Bern from January 24th to 25th. The organizers expect around 3,400 visitors. A comprehensive supporting program with expert panels promises another successful event.
