From November 19th to 21st, the "Buildinx" trade fair in Dortmund will bring together everyone who's anyone in the world of logistics and industrial real estate. Assistance systems ensure mobility

People with physical disabilities compete in completing everyday tasks using state-of-the-art technical assistance systems: In the Cybathlon, the ETH Zurich's Olympics of Assistive Technologies, 78 teams from research and industry competed against each other from October 25 to 27.

"Pepe" as a guide
At the Supply Chain CX Congress in Berlin, a modern transshipment point for shifting steel transport to rail was chosen, located along a 2 km long, reactivated track system where freight trains are unloaded with special equipment, heavy-duty cranes, forklifts, LH60 handling machines and reach stackers.

The German Federal Association of Logistics (BVL) claims an important role as a pioneer in the industry at the start of this year's logistics congress in Berlin and its new form as BVL Supply Chain CX with 2600 participants at the Estrel and the new concept with 140 exhibitors.

Maintain posture with the exo-support
At the German Digital Summit in Frankfurt am Main, Kristina Sinemus, the Hessian Minister for Digitalization and Innovation, had the opportunity to lift a crate of apple wine using an Apogee power suit from German Bionic. Her comment: "Wow, that was significantly easier with the artificial skeleton."
IFOY application phase

Applications for the IFOY Award 2025 are open until October 30th in ten categories, ranging from forklifts to mobile robots. New to the jury this year are Hilda Hultén (Dagens Logistik, Sweden) and Véronique Le Voas Barat (Solutions Manutention, France).
A well-rounded affair in the "cheese bunker"

The Swiss Association for Temperature-Controlled Logistics' visit to the "cheese bunker" of Fromco SA in Moudon involved a great deal of knowledge and know-how transfer, an overview of the Lean & Green initiative and the robotization of cheese ripening and storage.
Safety is our top priority

A high-caliber industry event on fire protection and occupational safety, featuring ten lectures, two workshops and an accompanying exhibition, will take place on March 20th at the Culture and Congress Centre (KKL) in Lucerne, under the direction of the Swiss Association of Fire Protection and Safety Professionals (VBSF).
Innovative networking at UNISG

This year's Innovation Day of the Institute for Supply Chain Management was characterized by numerous discussions about challenges and innovations in the global logistics business, and was attended by over one hundred participants at the Hotel "Einstein" in St. Gallen.
Back at the Zurich Exhibition Center

The Swiss trade fair for logistics, intralogistics and automation, "Logistics & Automation 2025", returns to the Limmat River from January 22nd to 23rd, 2025. Around 4000 trade visitors are expected, in conjunction with the concurrently held "Empack".
BVL Congress in a new format

Up to 5000 participants are expected at the central congress of the German Logistics Association, which, with 90 sessions and 220 speakers, is scheduled to take place for the first time at the Estrel Hotel in Berlin from October 23 to 25 this year - with a stronger presence of protagonists from IT, consulting and the insurance industry.
Well-stocked "Innovation Day"

Autonomous transport vehicles were also among the topics focused on at the Supply Chain Innovation Day of the University of St. Gallen, which featured prominent figures such as logistics division head Rolf André Siegenthaler, under the auspices of ISCM-HSG head Thomas Friedli, and numerous start-ups.
Women's power in the supply chain

Anne Happonen, Vice COO at intralogistics provider Cimcorp, has been awarded the "Women in Supply Chain Award." The US award recognized her efforts in supply chain training and employee development.
ILS takes over study trip

The Swiss Intralogistics Association (ILS) announces that the study trip previously organized by GS1 Switzerland will now be organized by ILS. It is scheduled for October 16th and 17th and will include visits to Migros Aare, SBB railway technology in Hägendorf, Swiss Post in Härkingen, Imbach, and army logistics in Thun.
