The Swiss Intralogistics Association (ILS) announces that the study trip previously organized by GS1 Switzerland will now be organized by ILS. It is scheduled for October 16th and 17th and will include visits to Migros Aare, SBB railway technology in Hägendorf, Swiss Post in Härkingen, Imbach, and army logistics in Thun.
Since 2005, the study trips had been organized by GS1. In 2020 and 2021, the trips had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. The 37th study trip then took place again in 2022. However, this was to be the last one organized by GS1. The industry event was cancelled in 2023.
Discussions with GS1 explored various options for how the study trip could be held in the future. Ultimately, as the ILS stated on its website, it became clear that if this important event for the industry was to continue, only a complete takeover by the ILS would be sensible. A new department had already been established for this purpose at the previous general meeting in May, and Lea Lauffer from Frei Fördertechnik volunteered to head it.
