It all started 25 years ago with a handful of founding members. Now, under the patronage of GS1 Switzerland, the LCS boasts over 700 members, just over 100 of whom are in French-speaking Switzerland. The anniversary was celebrated with a ride on the red double-headed "Churchill" aircraft, originally built specifically for state visits and special trips – and the association's public image was updated.

The trophies for the International Intralogistics and Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) will be awarded in Baden-Württemberg for the first time next year. The final event will take place on June 25, 2026, in the atrium of the headquarters of the software provider AEB in Stuttgart.

The Swiss Association for Temperature-Controlled Logistics, headquartered at Galliker Transport AG in Altishofen, has chosen a location perfectly suited to showcase electromobility, new drive and cooling methods. On September 11th, the focus will be on Power & Cool: electric and hydrogen propulsion as well as cryo-N₂ cooling.

“Electrification in freight and passenger transport is in full swing,” says Professor Antonios Papaemmanouil, head of the Institute of Electrical Engineering at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. The e-mobility transport forum at the Technopark in Zurich on September 10 will address the impact on logistics.

The annual excursion to Switzerland's most advanced logistics facilities is approaching, organized by the Intralogistics Association (ILS). On October 15th and 16th, participants will have the opportunity to visit six different logistics facilities over two days and exchange experiences.

The German Material Flow Congress, previously located at the Technical University of Munich on the campus of the Institute for Materials Handling, Material Flow and Logistics (fml) in Garching as a platform for knowledge transfer, exchange and networking, is moving to Dortmund and joining forces with the Test Camp Intralogistics.

 Logistics should not become increasingly complicated, but rather simpler for the user with the help of artificial intelligence. At least, that is the central theme of the 43rd Dortmund Talks, the so-called "Future Congress" of the Fraunhofer IML, taking place on September 9th and 10th.

The intralogistics association ILS is organizing its annual excursion to the most advanced logistics facilities in Switzerland on October 15th and 16th. Led by Lea Lauffer, the two-day excursion will include visits to six different logistics facilities, providing ample opportunity for exchanging experiences.

This year's IFOY Award was a real feat, with 21 nominees across eight categories. Representatives from Exotec, EP Equipment, Geekplus, Interroll, Jungheinrich, Plancise, and Still accepted their awards at the award night held at the Phoenix des Lumières in Dortmund. Start-up of the Year: Filics. 

Interesting discussions with Smart Factory expert Markus Krack, Björn Lindner about the project «Loxo», Shift Solutions founder Peter Karel, and the presentation of a Digital Innovation Award are on the agenda for the Logistics Cluster Forum of the Chamber of Commerce of both Basel on October 29th.

The difference to a double-runner system that had already appeared in a similar configuration in 2004 and was now competing again for the IFOY Award 2025? The auditors during the innovation check for the final race summed it up succinctly: "One worked – the other didn't".
