August 12, 2022

Coffee beans, as is well known, look like a load of currants when harvested. Nestlé Nespresso already relies on DHL's supply chain division in Italy, Brazil, Malaysia, and Taiwan. Now, logistics and fulfillment services are being added in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.
“Having successfully supported Nespresso in some of its key markets since 2014, we are delighted to extend our relationship to the UK and Ireland for the first time,” said Saul Resnick, CEO of DHL Supply Chain UK&I. “Today’s news is a great vote of confidence in our people and the quality of our logistics and e-fulfillment services delivered globally over the past eight years. We look forward to further developing this partnership.”
From the first quarter of 2023, DHL will handle all warehousing for Nespresso's e-commerce operations and network of retail boutiques in the UK and Ireland. The UK operation, expected to process six million orders in its first year alone, will be located in a dedicated omnichannel facility in Coventry. Equipped with state-of-the-art automation, it has already received awards for its extensive environmental features, including solar panels, electric vehicle charging stations, and air source heat pumps. The Irish branch will be located in Dublin.

With their warehousing expertise, innovative automation technology, and a strong focus on providing sustainable operations and services, DHL is the ideal supply chain partner for Nespresso UK & Ireland. Together, we will realize Nespresso’s ambitions to further enhance our first-class service quality and achieve shared success,” added Jan Süssmeir, Customer Care & Services Director at Nespresso UK & ROI.
The combination of robotics and manual input throughout the entire operation was an important factor in Nespresso's decision to choose DHL.
