Some aspects are already known.

TGW Logistics will set up a shuttle system with 150,000 pallet spaces and double-deep storage for the healthcare provider Bausch + Lomb approximately 13 km southwest of Amsterdam. 300 robots will handle up to 8,700 containers per hour, storing and retrieving them.

Supermarket group Axfood has signed a letter of intent with Witron regarding the use of the company's automation technology and with the municipality of Kungsbacka for the construction of a logistics center in Frillesås, Sweden. Commissioning and ramp-up are planned for 2030. 

1,021 young talents competed in 92 categories at the Swiss Skills 2025 competition in the halls of Bernexpo this week, vying for the vocational championships. 120,000 visitors attended, including the logistics specialists from Swiss Logistics by ASFL SVBL, who presented their work in a dedicated arena.

Stadler has begun producing aluminum railcar chassis in Salt Lake City. The facility is part of an expansion of the existing US plant there, which manufactures passenger trains for the US market . The new 4,600-square-meter hall will also create 20 new jobs for Stadler.

Conveyor technology provider Frei is celebrating the modernization and expansion of the container conveyor system at the Migros cooperative in Lucerne – with a focus on performance, automation, and future-proofing. The new conveyor lines can handle up to 2,400 containers per hour.

Zambelli, a provider of solutions for building envelopes, shelving, industrial metalworking, and  heating technology, is also among the leading manufacturers of roof drainage systems. Their product range alone comprises 17,500 items. At the new logistics center in Grafenau, this was a clear case for SSI Schäfer.

The "Logistics & Automation" trade fair, which was held jointly with the packaging trade fair "Empack" in Zurich in early 2025, will reopen in Bern on January 28 and 29, 2026. Last January, it attracted over 4,000 visitors.
