Compact robot cell
Items in a load carrier, such as a container or carton, reach the SSI piece picking cell via conveyor technology. Thanks to patented gripper technology, the gantry robot is able to pick items of various shapes and sizes quickly and gently. It removes an item from the load carrier – or from a compartment within the container – and places it on a short conveyor belt inside the robot cell. The item then travels along this belt to the transfer station, where it is gently placed into the open pocket of the SSI Carrier pocket sorter. The filled pocket is then fed back into the pocket sorter system and transported to its destination.
The compact design of the robot cell and the loading station, which also includes the feed to the automatic transfer point, has a positive impact on space utilization. The automatic loading concept is 100% in-house developed and manufactured, thus representing high quality.
Automatic loading
