The Kion Group (Linde, Still, Dematic, Baoli) reported significantly higher order intake for the past fiscal year 2025 than in the previous year. According to the company, order volumes rose to €11.7 billion, while revenue declined slightly to €11.3 billion. It was described as a "transition year"

The Supply Chain Solutions segment improved its results in line with its sustainable course of continuous improvement. All key performance indicators at the Group level were in line with our updated forecast,” says CEO Rob Smith. We have made great progress in implementing our ‘Playing to Win’ strategy (…) in a market that is evolving at an incredible pace.

Forecasts accurate

, order intake for Industrial Trucks & Services (industrial trucks) rose by 4.9 percent to 8.147 billion euros (2024: 7.766 billion euros) and benefited from growth in new business for counterbalance forklifts and warehouse equipment as well as from continued growth in the service business.

The number of vehicles ordered rose by 8.6 percent to 266,000. Order intake in the Supply Chain Solutions segment increased significantly by 39.5 percent to €3.599 billion (2024: €2.579 billion). Project business (Business Solutions) was driven by orders from several customer sectors, particularly pure e-commerce. The service business also experienced robust growth.

Solid growth

Group sales declined slightly in 2025 by 1.8 percent year-on-year to €11.297 billion (2024: €11.503 billion). In the Industrial Trucks & Services segment, sales fell by 3.9 percent to €8.272 billion (2024: €8.609 billion), primarily due to the normalization of the order backlog in 2024, lower volumes, and a decrease in the gross margin on new business resulting from pricing trends and the product mix. The service business recorded solid growth. Sales in the Supply Chain Solutions segment increased by 4.4 percent to €3.071 billion (2024: €2.943 billion).

On February 4, 2025, Kion adopted an efficiency program to strengthen its long-term competitiveness and to preserve scope for future investments. The resulting measures included the adjustment of organizational structures and processes in the Industrial Trucks & Services segment and in Corporate Services in the EMEA region.

Special effects in the game

The vast majority of the total expected expenses for fiscal year 2025, amounting to €168.8 million, were recorded as one-off and special items. The efficiency program is expected to lead to permanent cost savings of approximately €150 million annually. Initial positive effects on earnings were already evident in 2025; the full impact is expected during 2026.

The group result amounted to EUR 240.5 million (2024: EUR 369.2 million) and was significantly impacted by one-off expenses related to the efficiency program.

The ongoing transformation into a supply chain solutions company is reflected, among other things, in the renaming of the Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) segment to "Intelligent Automation Solutions" (IAS), which took effect at the beginning of fiscal year 2026. This is intended to further strengthen the Dematic brand's position in the field of supply chain orchestration.

Effective efficiency program

The Kion Group's expected business and earnings situation for the 2026 financial year will be characterized by differing growth dynamics in the two operating segments.

In the Industrial Trucks & Services segment, slight revenue growth is expected for fiscal year 2026 compared to the previous year, based on assumed market developments. The positive earnings effects from the efficiency program, which already had a partial impact in the previous fiscal year, are expected to be almost fully realized during 2026.

In contrast, continued competitive pressure is expected, which should have a negative impact on price levels. Overall, however, a noticeable increase in earnings and profitability is anticipated.

For the 2026 financial year, the board expects a moderate increase in revenue overall.
