Semi-automatic - but fully expandable
June 23, 2025
The LogiRobot AMR, a semi-automatic rear-mounted forklift truck with additional manual operation via a foldable tiller, which reached the finals at IFOY, transports pallets to the correct location for unloading after manual load picking without any further intervention from the operator.

The 3D-based obstacle detection enables the robot to recognize and navigate around objects from the ground up to its full height, such as forks from other equipment and typical objects found in industrial environments. The device is not particularly complex, but it possesses valuable features that allow for high throughput in dynamic environments.

Of the three main functions, load picking is always performed manually by an operator and was deliberately not automated by the manufacturer. Transport and unloading are carried out autonomously without monitoring or intervention by the user. The IFOY testers considered the functions to be well-designed and of high quality. For the two autonomous functions, the vehicle is equipped with numerous high-performance sensors and convincing automation.
High-performance sensor technology
Obstacle detection is based on 3D cameras and captures objects from the driving surface across the entire contour of the LogiRobot. This enables it to reliably detect typical obstacles in its operating environment and autonomously navigate around them within the given evasive maneuvering possibilities.

The design and automation of the LogiRobot are already familiar from various vehicles in its class. The use of additional 3D sensors for obstacle detection is consistently implemented, and the sensors are well integrated into the vehicle. The control system allows users to define positions on the map, both on the vehicle itself and on the connected control computer, which can then be used as transport destinations. Overall, the industrial truck is competitively positioned within its market.
Simple option
The LogiRobot AMR is designed for medium-sized and large manufacturing companies in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetics, industrial production, printing and packaging, and specialized handling solutions sectors. In larger production facilities with regular pallet transport, the cobot offers a straightforward automation option for increasing productivity and thus provides valuable support.

Furthermore, the vehicle's extensive sensor system could be used in the future to implement automatic or even autonomous load handling. This function could be integrated as an option, allowing users to flexibly choose between automatic and manual load handling depending on their needs. The current lack of automation in the load handling function, it was stated during the test days, is in line with current competitive standards, but the already extensive integrated sensor system also offers good potential for further development.
