Sika celebrated the opening of a state-of-the-art automated warehouse in Marion, Ohio, with a formal inauguration and guided tours. Finished goods for the construction and industrial markets are stored on 15,000 square meters of floor space. Jungheinrich plays a significant role in the project.
The Marion Regional Distribution Center is Sika's newest fully automated warehouse. It will serve as a regional distribution center on the Central/East Coast with a direct-to-consumer concept. The new warehouse is the first of its kind for Sika in the United States and utilizes fully automated equipment, including numerous material handling vehicles, self-driving forklifts, inbound and picking conveyors, as well as automated cameras and contour stations for tracking handling units and verifying pallet transport safety throughout the warehouse.
Sika, the Swiss-based global market leader in the development and production of systems and products for bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing, and protecting in the construction and automotive industries, has grown significantly in recent years and has continuously expanded its product range and market reach, according to Jim Walther, CEO and President of Sika Corporation USA. "Our investment in building this state-of-the-art art warehouse in the United States with fully automated equipment will significantly strengthen our commitment to faster product delivery."

Sika recently laid the foundation stone for a 25,000-square-meter mortar production facility in Upper Deerfield Township, NJ. This site will produce a full range of mortars, including high-performance cementitious mortars, self-leveling mortars, and shotcrete mixes, for both residential and commercial applications. Production is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2025.
