Of course, the articulated vehicle takes some getting used to. Even experienced "pilots" say so. But being able to turn corners in just 2.7 meters has its advantages. The Aisle-Master OP that Combilift sent to the IFOY test camp is even equipped with shock monitoring and energy consumption control.

The fact that the Aisle Master OP is a "stationary model" doesn't mean it's immobile or can't be operated in a semi-stationary position. It now has a standing platform where its predecessor had a seat. Narrow aisles are, so to speak, the "passion" of this machine from Monaghan, Ireland, whose audit on the test track CEO Martin McVikar was happy to attend in person. Order picking and storage are possible in both directions without turning the vehicle around, and it seems to be enjoying increasing popularity in beverage and hardware stores.

Among its most striking features are still the design, and the fact that the continuous driver's cab is protected as a "design patent" (European Design Registration No. 002676809-0001), as is the patented chain steering system (EU Patent No. 3008008). The AME-OP forklift also offers all the advantages of a conventional forklift with rubber tires for indoor and outdoor use.

The Aisle Master OP is available in variants with load capacities from 1,500 kg to 2,000 kg and lifting heights up to 12.1 m and can be used in aisles as narrow as 1750 mm.

That's a considerable range of applications in the smallest possible space, which is especially valuable in urban and confined areas where every square meter is expensive. The track steering allows for an articulation angle of more than 205 degrees.

The Aisle-Master OP is the first articulated forklift to be operated with a standing platform. This provides yet another option for maneuvering in narrow aisles and also allows it to be used as a high-lift pallet truck. The operator's position in the center of the forklift and the low entry and exit step facilitate order picking when the operator needs to frequently get in and out. The entry and exit path is designed so that access to the pallet remains unobstructed, even in narrow aisles.

It can also go straight ahead...

The results of the electronic voting for the most innovative devices in this IFOY category will, as always, only be announced at the gala, which will take place on June 22nd at the "U" in Dortmund.
