Panoramic view in the central aisle

March 27, 2023

With a central window, the operator has a clear view of obstacles, pedestrians, and other vehicles appearing below when the platform is raised. Crown's newly developed SP 1500 high-lift order picker offers significant advantages in terms of workplace safety.

Everyone knows that top speed isn't everything. Nevertheless, the SP 1500 series boasts a respectable speed of up to 12 km/h. With a reach height of up to 11.2 m and a load capacity of 1.25 t, these robust, intelligently networked forklifts are suitable for a wide range of order picking applications. They meet the constantly evolving demands of e-commerce, wholesale, and retail, and can be used equally well in traditional order picking.

“With the SP series, Crown raises ergonomics, performance, and efficiency in high-altitude order picking to a new level. Operating comfort and forklift performance allow operators to surpass their own expectations,” says Product Manager Sven Vorreiter

The new generation of SP series forklifts offers the operator exceptional all-around visibility – in the direction of travel as well as upwards and downwards. Two additional windows in the fork direction also provide a clear view down into the aisle. The optional panoramic overhead guard improves upward visibility while reliably protecting against falling objects and dirt.

In the operator area, two height-adjustable and individually configurable control units – one towards the drive unit, the other in the fork direction – as well as the steering crank with two alternative positions ensure flexibility.

In addition, the optionally integrated Work Assist accessories support the operator in a variety of tasks in a dynamic order picking environment. Various storage compartments for tools, paper, and personal items, as well as charging options for electronic devices, can be easily mounted within reach.

For consistent user-friendliness, there's "Gena," the operating system that can be optionally integrated with InfoLink fleet management. It delivers important data and information clearly and concisely in more than 40 selectable languages on a 7-inch color touchscreen. Customizable widgets display operating hours, steering angle, and battery charge status in real time.

With the optional high-speed lift function of the 48-volt model, the maximum lifting speed is 0.71 m/s, and the lowering speed is 0.41 m/s. The lowering function is also regenerative as standard.

All models come standard with the patented OnTrac traction control system. When used on wet or dusty surfaces, it reduces wheel spin and slippage during acceleration, deceleration, and braking.

The models with fixed forks are ideal for picking up bulky, large items. The vehicles with an additional lift are particularly suitable for order picking jobs consisting of many small or heavy items. Deep bending and long stretches are rarely necessary. With a wide range of V-Force lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries and compatible chargers, various energy solutions are available – tailored to specific application requirements and the existing on-site infrastructure.

The SP series was nominated for the IFOY Award 2023 (International Intralogistics and Forklift Truck of the Year) in January 2023, even before its market launch.
