Marcus Wassenberg (55) joins Kion from the print media equipment manufacturer Heidelberger Druckmaschinen and will become its new CFO. A new position of "Chief People and Sustainability Officer" (CPSO) is being created and will be filled by Valeria Gargiulo.
The expansion of the Executive Board is scheduled to take effect in the first half of 2023. Wassenberg will be responsible for Accounting, Controlling, Finance, IT, as well as M&A and Investor Relations activities on the Group Executive Board and will assume his position no later than April 1, 2023.
Since September 2019, he has been responsible as CFO of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen for the successful implementation of a complex transformation program to improve financial stability and competitiveness. Previously, he served as CFO at Rolls-Royce Power Systems and Senvion.
Valeria Gargiulo (50) joins Kion from Daimler Truck and will assume her position as Chief Human Resources Officer (CPSO) in Frankfurt/Main no later than May 1, 2023. She will also take on the role of Labor Director. Gargiulo's responsibilities at Kion encompass the group-wide areas of HR, health and safety, and sustainability. As Chief Human Resources Officer, Gargiulo will focus, among other things, on attracting and intensively developing talent for the intralogistics group worldwide, equipping internal teams with all the necessary skills, and further promoting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture.
She currently serves as Vice President of People & Organisational Development at Daimler Trucks. With approximately 30 years of experience in human resources, sales, law, and M&A, she brings extensive international experience and an outstanding track record in organizational development – including a trusting relationship with employee representatives.
Based on her many years of experience in the areas of environment, social responsibility and responsible corporate governance, she will strengthen Kion's sustainability profile, significantly increase transparency and implement appropriate measures in a targeted manner.
