Cargotec subsidiary Hiab is rounding out its electric vehicle series. The Moffett E8 NX can lift up to 3500 kg and, together with the E2 NX, E4 NX and E5 NX models, will be on display at the IAA Transportation trade fair in Hanover from September 20th to 25th.
While previous electric models, such as the E4-25.3NX, which was test-driven at the recent IFOY test camp, already boasted impressive dimensions, the E8 NX is now the manufacturer's most powerful truck-mounted forklift to date. "The E8 NX is ideal for numerous applications in diverse environments. As a fully electric model, it also offers many additional advantages. Being emission-free and virtually silent, it is perfectly suited for use in enclosed spaces, low-emission zones, and anywhere noise is a concern, such as residential areas and late evenings," explains Hiab Sales Manager Jann Hansen.
Not the selling price, but the total operating costs are likely to be lower than those of a comparable diesel forklift due to the electric drive and reduced service costs.

The engine hood has been redesigned for improved visibility; it features various safety features such as LED lighting and a rotating beacon, a seatbelt with locking function, and an instrument panel with easily accessible controls. Because the Moffett E8 NX is virtually silent, the operator can also more easily hear what is happening around the forklift. Customers have a wide range of E8 models to choose from, along with numerous equipment options. This allows the truck-mounted forklift to be precisely tailored to individual requirements. In 2023, Hiab plans to unveil the Moffett E2 NX, which will replace the current Moffett E2, launched in 2014. A prototype of the Moffett E2 NX will also be on display in the Hiab pavilion at the IAA.
Outside the pavilion, the Moffett E5 NX and the Moffett E8 NX will also be on display; the Moffett E4 NX and the prototype of the Moffett E2 NX will be shown inside.
