The "Follower" is a giant

June 7, 2022

The new RXE 10-16C effortlessly lifts a half-ton load to a height of 7 meters. A remarkable achievement for such a small forklift. This is made possible by the vehicle's low center of gravity and the extra-rigid construction of the lifting mast.

This makes it the first choice when it comes to moving loads weighing up to 1.6 tons in a space-saving manner. At just under two meters high and less than one meter wide, this small "compact package" fits safely through any doorway – for example, when unloading containers and trucks – or even through very narrow aisles in the warehouse. It's no exaggeration to say that the latest addition to the Hamburg-based manufacturer's electric forklift fleet is a giant in terms of compactness and performance. Moreover, the successor to the legendary RX 50 boasts numerous safety features.

The RXE 10-16C is not only exceptionally agile, but with a top speed of 12.5 km/h when fully loaded, it's also quite fast on long journeys. To ensure that driving dynamics aren't compromised for safety reasons, it comes standard with Curve Speed Control, which automatically adjusts the speed when cornering.

For workplace safety, individually configurable equipment options are available, such as the direction indicator, the Safety Light 4Plus safety lighting, the lift height indicator, the stability assistant, and overload detection. "Even with the smallest member of our e-forklift family, we haven't compromised on safety features," explains Dyrk Draenkow, Product Manager for Electric Forklifts and Energy Systems. "With its numerous driver assistance systems, some of which are optional, the RXE 10-16C is at least as safe as the supposedly larger members of the Still electric forklift family."

The new model derives its dynamic performance from its low-maintenance, 24-volt, rear-wheel AC drive, which is based on the drive concept and components of the FM-X reach truck. A key advantage of the new drivetrain is the replacement of the maintenance-intensive steering chain with a hydraulic gear steering system, where a hydraulic steering motor steers the drive wheel via a gear. The rear counterweight has also been redesigned, providing more space for the electrical system, including the drive control unit.
