Kion presented a strong showing and undiluted results at its virtual Annual General Meeting, looking back on 2021. At his first Annual General Meeting at Kion, the new CEO, Rob Smith, highlighted the company's expertise in electric drives and battery technology.
“We are one of the world’s leading providers of e-mobility solutions for intralogistics. Today, almost 90 percent of all new forklifts and warehouse equipment manufactured by our group are electrically powered.” Lithium-ion technology and its further development are the focus of our own research and development. Two and a half years ago, Kion and BMZ founded the joint venture Kion Battery Systems in Karlstein am Main.
At the end of April this year, a new production line for 24-volt batteries was opened there, which will also power the group's warehouse technology equipment in the future. "This is high-tech made by Kion – and in Germany," added Smith. "Our sustainability expertise and progress are being recognized – including in the capital market.".
