That sounds like considerable lifting power: Forklift manufacturer Jungheinrich has signed a sponsorship agreement with the young wrestler from Fribourg, Lario Kramer. The 23-year-old from Galmiz in the canton of Fribourg has already been named "Up-and-Comer of the Year" by the Swiss Wrestling Association.
Martin Weber, CEO of Jungheinrich Switzerland, sees the trained agricultural business manager and passionate vegetable grower as a brilliant promotional asset. "As a trained agricultural business manager and passionate vegetable grower on the family farm, Lario is the ideal ambassador for us. And what pleases us most is that he has declared himself a big fan of our products. And we are fans of him. His sporting ambition inspires us," says Weber. "Credibility is very important in sponsorship. Lario works with our forklifts every day – so it's a perfect match." The motto is "two champions – one team.".
Lario Kramer is predicted to have a great career. At the last Swiss National Wrestling Festival in Zug, the young top athlete from the SK Kerzers wrestling club already won a federal wreath. He also has regional wrestling festival victories and a win at the mountain festival on the Stoos. More will undoubtedly follow. Sponsorship from Jungheinrich helps him to consistently pursue his path: "I love Swiss wrestling, and with around 20 hours of training per week, it demands a lot from me – in addition to my 80 percent job. So every bit of support is welcome."
Swiss wrestling has become increasingly professionalized in recent years. The level of competition is high, and media attention has also increased. "We are dealing exclusively with top-level athletes here," says Martin Weber. "With our sponsorship, we support and acknowledge the effort required for such peak performances."
The commitment is intended to last for several years.
