Enormous demand
They transport materials and goods both indoors and outdoors, are used in production supply or warehousing, or for loading and unloading trucks and pallets. Direct sales remain the most important sales channel. "Robot-as-a-service " offerings are still in the minority, but increased by 42 percent in 2024 compared to the previous year.

The VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics Association, in cooperation with the IFR, provides information on market developments in the field of mobile robotics for intralogistics.

The VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics Association represents more than 290 German and European member companies from the fields of mobile robots, industrial trucks, cranes and lifting equipment, warehouse technology, and continuous conveyors. Through the association's affiliated working group, Intralogistics -2X, both intralogistics providers and users are addressed to develop interface solutions for intralogistics applications.
