He joined Yusen Logistics in 2018 as Managing Director of Yusen Logistics Benelux and Nordics, and at the beginning of 2024 his responsibilities were expanded to include Germany and Switzerland.
Sea freight with biofuel

The formula for biodiesel made from residual and waste materials is "Ucome" (Used Cooking Oil Methyl Ester) , which reputable suppliers claim offers CO₂ savings of over 90% compared to fossil diesel. DHL and CMA CGM now intend to accelerate the use of this biofuel.

The German Material Flow Congress will have a more live character in 2026, taking place as part of the Intralogistics Test Camp at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund. During the conference, 25 speakers will discuss the trends of 2026 in technical logistics on April 15th and 16th.

On stage in the Westfalenhalle, under the theme "Next Stop: Beyond Automation", speakers will include Kevin Kron (Boston Dynamics), Oliver Bilstein (BMW Group), Stephan Peters (Rhenus Group) and Dominik Eicke (Roche Diagnostics).

The lectures and discussion formats were summarized by the program committee into six sessions under the headings humanoid robots, limits of automation – airport as the final boss?, planning, making locations future-proof, AI in logistics and best practice.

The sessions will be moderated by renowned German researchers such as Professor Johannes Fottner (TU Munich), Professor Alice Kirchheim (TU Dortmund / Fraunhofer IML), and Professor Thorsten Schmidt (TU Dresden). "The speakers at the congress come from both research and industry. Science meets reality. This is what makes the exchange at this congress so valuable," says congress director Johannes Fottner.
Test new developments yourself
For over two decades, this event for suppliers, users, planners, consultants, and researchers was held at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) campus in Garching. The VDI Society for Production and Logistics is the event's sponsor. The Chair of Materials Handling, Material Flow, and Logistics (fml) at TUM supports the congress.

Since the congress is taking place as part of the Intralogistics Test Camp, participants can also use their ticket to test around 100 new technologies at the Intralogistics Test Camp. "This new setting offers congress attendees significant added value. At this curated event, they can, for example, drive forklifts themselves or closely examine how mobile robots from different manufacturers are controlled via the AnyFleet automation platform from idealworks."

“The finalists of the global IFOY AWARD 2026 competition can also put them through their paces ,” confirms Thilo Jörgl from Test Camp Management. For intensive networking, congress participants, exhibitors, and visitors of the test event will meet at a joint networking night on April 15 with dinner, drinks, and a DJ.
