With 190 exhibitors and 12 percent growth, which is "not a given" under the current economic conditions (trade fair director Stefan Voegele), the Logistics & Automation team in Zurich is optimistic about the launch of the industry platform linked with Empack.

The exhibition areas and presentations at the industry platform proved to be well-attended from the very first day. A press conference focused on the labor shortage.

The supply chain initiative "Movement 32," represented by Daniel Moser, highlights the acute shortage of skilled workers within the industry. According to a study, there is currently a shortage of approximately 36,000 skilled workers in this sector, a number that could rise to as many as 80,000 in the coming years. Moser: "We have to take action!".

Andreas Zopfi, Managing Director of the Swiss Packaging Institute SVI, sensed a renewed sense of optimism after recent legal uncertainties due to numerous new EU packaging regulations.

The second day of the trade fair featured interesting panel discussions.
