“The visitor numbers are surprisingly good. We are amazed at how many people were here in Zurich,” says Stefano Ghilardi, President of Swisslifter and Managing Sales Director at Linde Material Handling. A total of 3,621 visitors were counted at the combined “Empack” and “Logistics & Automation” trade fairs.
Long queues at registration, packed aisles and booths at the exhibitors' and associations' stands. Logistics & Automation, with 90 exhibitors from the intralogistics, automation, and transport sectors, brought together highly interested trade visitors, while Empack, with 92 exhibitors, represented the packaging industry. The synergies between the two industry platforms fostered a lively exchange of knowledge and information between the Swiss transport, logistics, and intralogistics sectors and the packaging, bottling, and recycling industries. The extensive supporting program, featuring expert presentations from the Logistics and Packaging Talks, was extremely well-attended.
“A great deal of knowledge was exchanged, advice was given, and information was shared about trends and innovations,” explains Kristina Nadjarian, Marketing & Content Manager of the two trade fairs. This was the culmination of about a year of preparation. The goal of ensuring satisfied exhibitors and visitors was achieved in a gratifying way.
Corinne Galliker, Head of Sales at Galliker Transport, is also completely satisfied. Empack exhibitor Tobias von Rotz, Managing Director of Trimaco, says: “We noticed that many customers are also involved in Logistics & Automation – the synergies are fantastic for both areas, and there were some very interesting discussions.” SVI President Philippe Dubois adds: “The industry is active again; people are happy to come, ask questions, and have ideas.” Jörg Mathis, CEO of GS1 Switzerland, believes that the industry “hasn’t been this united in a long time.”

The next edition of Empack and Logistics & Automation will take place on January 24th and 25th, 2024 in Bern.
