The Swiss Packaging Institute (SVI) has extended the deadline for submitting applications for the Swiss Packaging Award 2023, originally January 15th, to January 31st. Managing Director Andreas Zopfi says the application portal will remain open until then.
As always, innovative packaging, packaging aids, displays (product-carrying systems, presentation elements), and packaging and packing systems developed, designed, manufactured, or distributed by Swiss companies or individuals, or by foreign companies or individuals who have introduced their submission to the Swiss market, are eligible. Multiple packaging submissions per entrant are permitted.
Young talents are also encouraged to submit their packaging ideas to the Swiss Packaging Award: Participation is free for school and university students. They will be evaluated by the jury in the relevant category. A prerequisite is that the products are not (yet) on the market.

The Packaging Award is presented in the categories of sustainability, convenience, design, marketing, and technology/construction/machine systems. In addition, there is a Young Talent Award and an Audience Award as special categories.
For the first time, a special jury prize be awarded. Here, the jury members will recognize submissions that they consider outstanding. Packaging made of all materials is eligible for the competition. The focus is on promoting and recognizing holistic packaging solutions, regardless of the packaging material. In each category, a 16-member expert jury will nominate up to three packaging solutions during a two-day judging process, from which one winner will be selected.
All award-winning and nominated packaging, as well as the companies or individuals involved, are authorized to use the official Swiss Packaging Awards logo. Winners also automatically qualify for the World Star Packaging Awards, the international packaging competition of the World Packaging Organisation (WPO).
