Farewell to "Heidi" Senger-Weiss, co-owner and member of the supervisory board of the transport company Gebrüder Weiss until her advanced age. She was 82. Together with her husband Paul, she managed the company from 1968 to 2004, remained closely associated until the end .
During her 36 years at the helm, Heidi Senger-Weiss, who was also inducted into the Logistics Hall of Fame in 2015, not only had a lasting impact on the company. According to a press release from the logistics service provider, her network-oriented thinking inspired the entire industry. As President of the Central Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics and in various roles at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, she successfully advocated for the importance of logistics and repeatedly and vividly highlighted its importance to the economy in public.
In the 1960s
Her leadership and leadership skills made Gebrüder Weiss a role model for medium-sized family businesses. In 2015, for her outstanding contributions to logistics, Heidi Senger-Weiss became the first woman ever to be inducted into the Logistics Hall of Fame at the Federal German Ministry of Transport in Berlin. Heidi Senger-Weiss received numerous other awards for her life's work, most recently the Grand Decoration of Honour and Decree of the Republic of Austria in November 2022. With Heidi Senger-Weiss's passing, Gebrüder Weiss loses an outstanding personality and a special person to whom the company owes so much.

Born in Vienna in 1941, she spent her youth in Bregenz. After completing her economics studies at the University of World Trade in Vienna, she gained practical freight forwarding experience in Basel, Rotterdam, Paris, and New York. In 1965, she joined her parents' company. She embodied values such as commitment, dedication, and respect. She said of herself: "I never imagined I was the best freight forwarder. My talent is motivating people and winning them over to a topic, so that they work with enthusiasm and are committed to a cause."
