TX Logistik takes over Exploris
TX Logistik AG, a company of the Mercitalia Group, which bundles the logistics activities of the state-owned railway company FS Italiane, is acquiring the rail freight transport provider Exploris, thus becoming the second-largest rail transport provider in Germany.
Exploris Deutschland Holding's companies also include Via Cargo, HSL Logistik, and Delta Rail, which operate in rail freight transport in eight European countries. "With this acquisition, we are creating another cornerstone for achieving the European Union's goals of shifting freight transport to rail," says Sabrina De Filippis, CEO of Mercitalia Logistics.
Exploris' international rail connections are strongly focused on the east-west transport axes and ideally complement the TX Logistics network, which is already extensively established along Europe's north-south axis.
