Equipped with super-elastic tires on the load and drive wheels, Hyster's new RO1.6-2.0 pushmaster models are able to maneuver on uneven surfaces both outdoors and in warehouses.
"With the new Hyster reach truck, we've created a two-in-one forklift for mixed indoor and outdoor applications that fully exploits the potential," says Monica Radavelli, Product Manager Warehouse at Hyster. "Retrieving pallets from warehouses and loading them onto trucks outdoors, or efficiently unloading trucks and then storing pallets, regardless of the surface—it's all possible with just one forklift."
For additional flexibility and optimized warehouse processes, the new Hyster outdoor reach truck features a comparatively compact design and is suitable for use in narrow aisles. Triple masts with tilting and side-shifting forks enable a lift height of up to 7.5 m in the warehouse.
The new model is optionally available with a lithium-ion battery. This allows for rapid charging during breaks, maximizing the fleet's uptime. Opportunity charging does not affect the battery's service life.

"Lithium-ion batteries offer clean, powerful performance," says Radavelli. "No venting or water level monitoring is required. There's no risk of acid leakage. Depending on local regulations, available space can be better utilized, as no separate cargo area is required. The forklift can simply be plugged into a power outlet for charging. Fewer batteries are also needed for multi-shift operation."
For outdoor use, the reach trucks are also available with telescopic forks, which facilitate positioning during transport. They also offer flexibility for applications where the trucks are only loaded or unloaded from one side.
Other options include half and full cabs, full cab heating and windshield wipers.
