Sophisticated positioning

May 15, 2022

Maintaining balance and load-bearing capacity when lifting heavy loads is fundamental to the operation of loading cranes. HIAB's premium systems feature a cross-tab outrigger system with two legs on the left side that can be spread to an opening angle of up to 123°. An interesting twist.

The mobile system thus increases the stabilization area at the front of the truck. When used in the conventional, vertical position, the extended left support leg (4.5 m) provides greater stability. This is particularly advantageous for lifting operations requiring a large horizontal reach. Furthermore, Crosstab allows loads to be lifted in front of the truck without having to extend additional front support legs.

The Effer 1000 was launched in 2021. It is the first 90-tm loader crane with nine extensions and six jib booms. Weighing just 9,500 kg, the crane delivers performance comparable to much larger cranes. This contributes to reducing emissions and operating costs, allowing customers to lower the cost and weight of their equipment.

The Crosstab outrigger system has been available for the Effer crane models 955 and 1405 since 2010. From July 2022, it can now also be ordered as an optional extra for Effer 1000 loader cranes.

HIAB's premium loading systems include, among numerous other equipment, HIAB, Effer, and Argos loading cranes, truck-mounted forklifts from Moffett and Princeton, Loglift forestry cranes, Jonsered recycling cranes, and Multilift skip and roll-off tippers. Hiab is part of the Cargotec Corporation (2021 revenue of approximately €3.3 billion / 11,000 employees).
