Oskar Kramer (64) handed over the management of Gebrüder Weiss's land transport operations in Switzerland to Thomas Niederer (51) at the beginning of July in order to retire. Niederer has also been the section head of Spedlogswiss in Eastern Switzerland since 2011.
Thomas Niederer has been with the company for 28 years. Most recently, as Head of Finance and Accounting for Western Switzerland, he was closely involved with the local subsidiary. Furthermore, over the past 15 years, he has played a key role in the expansion of Gebrüder Weiss in Germany, Asia, North America, and Switzerland, the country he now heads.
“Oskar Kramer leaves us with an exceptionally well-positioned national organization with excellent growth prospects”said Niederer. New goals have already been set: The Pratteln site is to be expanded with an automated high-bay warehouse. For more than 130 years, Switzerland, with its 220 employees in Pratteln, Altenrhein, and Zurich, has been one of Gebrüder Weiss’s core markets.
