Dachser at pre-crisis levels

April 26, 2022

The logistics provider, with seven locations in Switzerland, generated CHF 128.8 million in revenue in 2021 with 292 employees (worldwide: EUR 7.1 billion) and has largely recovered from the pandemic. In 2021, its Swiss subsidiary transported 621,000 shipments weighing 264,800 tons.

Dachser Switzerland is a subsidiary of the transport service provider of the same name, headquartered in Kempten, Germany. The first branch in Switzerland opened in 1967. Worldwide, Dachser operates at 376 locations with approximately 31,800 employees. Globally, 83.6 million shipments weighing 42.8 million tons were handled last year.

After last year's lockdown-related setback, Dachser CEO Burkhard Eling stated that the logistics provider is returning to a "dynamic growth path." The positive annual results, despite all the challenges, are attributable to organic increases in shipments and tonnage of 6.3 and 7.7 percent, respectively

A widespread shortage of cargo space completed the surge in sales. Eling: "Brexit, the COVID-19 pandemic, and global supply chains stretched to their limits characterized the year and led to significant growth."

hold".

Dachser's Road Logistics business field, which encompasses the transport and warehousing of industrial and consumer goods (European Logistics) as well as food (Food Logistics), grew by 12.3 percent in 2021 to €4.99 billion in revenue. After the lockdowns in Southern Europe in 2020 led to a 2.2 percent decline in revenue, this result also represents a significant increase compared to the pre-pandemic year of 2019.

The market outlook for 2022 remains volatile and challenging. The war in Ukraine is causing extreme human suffering and will leave deep scars on the global economy. "We must prepare for another year in which crisis management, flexibility, and resilience in supply chains will be crucial,"

so Eling.
