M. Ritter
Stadler established its US headquarters in Salt Lake City in 2016, thereby complying with the "Buy America Act," which requires that at least 60 percent of the value added in public contracts be generated in the USA. Since then, Stadler, which now employs 500 people there, has regularly won new contracts. Time for a dedicated "North America Division.".
The Board of Directors has decided to separate the US location from the Switzerland division as of January 1, 2025, and establish it as its own North America division. The current country head, Martin Ritter, will become the head of this division and thus a member of the Group Executive Board.
After Trinity Metro in Texas (USA) ordered eight diesel-electric FLIRT trains in 2015, Stadler established its US headquarters eight years ago. Now, the foundation stone has been laid to further expand the plant, manage growth, and enable future production of the car bodies in the USA.
In the last two months, Stadler secured an order for four diesel-powered DMU FLIRT trains for Trinity Metro in Texas, as well as an order for up to 80 new streetcars for Salt Lake City. Furthermore, other Stadler vehicles, including the GTW, KISS, and FLIRT models powered by hydrogen, are already in operation in various regions of the USA, and Stadler maintains a broad product portfolio in the North American market.

Martin Ritter will join Stadler's Group Executive Board. According to the company, the organizational change will not result in any changes to the terms of employment for employees in the USA.
Chairman of the Board Peter Spuhler stated: "Stadler's presence in the USA has developed very positively in recent years. To emphasize the importance of the market, we are now strengthening the location."
Ritter added: "I am very pleased with the decision to manage Stadler US as a division from the new year. This demonstrates the importance of the location and is the result of the tremendous commitment of all employees here in Salt Lake City."
