Major project attracts tens of thousands again

April 1, 2024

In the first two days alone, the open construction site around Stuttgart's main train station – the future "Stuttgart 21" – attracted over 60,000 visitors. For a total of three days, the striking chalice-shaped columns, the skylights, and the first platforms below ground were open for viewing.

Experts will be on hand at approximately 20 information booths to inform visitors about topics including construction progress, the Stuttgart Digital Hub, local and regional transport, the Stuttgart S-Bahn, and the planned Stuttgart Rosenstein district. The two entrances to the construction site are located near the train station tower and near the Staatsgalerie/Wulle footbridge stop.

The association Bahnprojekt Stuttgart–Ulm, which is closely associated with the construction company, has been organizing public tours of the major construction site since 2016, in cooperation with DB Projekt Stuttgart–Ulm GmbH and its partners. Last year, over 90,000 visitors came over three days to witness the progress of the construction. This year, the number is expected to reach 115,000.
