Hopefully, no further "surprise eggs" in the form of additional cost increases are to be expected when the "Stuttgart-Ulm rail project" invites visitors to view the current status of Stuttgart 21 from March 30th to April 1st. But impressive prospects are certainly on offer, such as the first skylights in the station roof.
The association supporting the project, which is affiliated with Deutsche Bahn's project company, invites visitors to tour the new station building with its striking chalice-shaped columns, the station roof with its first skylights, and the renovation work on the Bonatz building from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Experts will be available at approximately 20 information booths to provide information on the construction progress, the Stuttgart Digital Hub, local and regional transport, and the future of the Rosenstein area.

Bernhard Bauer, chairman of the association: “The new Stuttgart main station is growing and nearing completion. Everyone will be able to see this for themselves in 2024. (…) The walk across the new station roof will also be a highlight.”
The influx of visitors to the central exhibition about the Stuttgart 21 project remained strong in 2023. Around 205,000 visitors came to the exhibition tower right next to platform 16. The view from the roof terrace and numerous interactive exhibits illustrate the construction work.
