TX Logistik, a subsidiary of FS Italiane Group specializing in intermodal transport, is investing in 40 Vectron locomotives, half of which are equipped for the German-Austrian-Italian corridor, and the other half for operation in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and the Netherlands.
Together with the Italian railway company Ferrovie dello Stato, a contract was signed with the rail vehicle manufacturer Siemens Mobility at the transport logistic trade fair. An option for the acquisition of 25 additional Vectron locomotives was also agreed upon, including both multi-system locomotives and AC variants.
The first locomotives are scheduled for delivery to TX Logistik starting in September 2024. Delivery of the last models is planned for December 2025. TX Logistik has also awarded Siemens Mobility a full-service contract for the maintenance of the locomotives.
