InnoTrans, the world's leading trade fair for the rail industry, has reopened its doors to an international audience in Berlin after a four-year hiatus. The industry is confident about its prospects for the "mobility of the future," says Andre Rodenbeck, President of the Association of the German Rail Industry, of which Stadler is also a member.
Never before has mobility been more central to the key issues of the future. "Only through environmentally friendly rail can we resolve the conflict between the globally increasing demand for mobility and the need to reduce emissions in the transport sector," said Rodenbeck. "Together with our partners worldwide, we want to push the boundaries of what is possible."
Spanning 200,000 square meters and over three kilometers of track, InnoTrans showcases the entire spectrum of the rail industry: from digitized high-speed trains, automated subways, and alternative drive systems to intelligent freight wagons, predictive maintenance, and cybersecurity in rail transport, all the way to smart infrastructure. "InnoTrans is the showcase for Rail 4.0," says Rodenbeck. Around 3,000 exhibitors from 60 countries and 153,000 trade visitors come to Berlin every two years to experience disruptive rail innovations and pioneering transport solutions.
