The shareholders' meeting of SBB Germany praised Frei's many years of expertise in public transport, his knowledge of railway operations, and his social skills. His predecessor, Patrick Altenburger, is leaving the company after six years as Managing Director of SBB Germany and will become Managing Director of the Schaffhausen transport authority. "Under his leadership, SBB GmbH has further developed and established itself in cross-border regional transport in the German districts of Lörrach and Konstanz, as well as in the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Schaffhausen. I thank Patrick Altenburger for his great commitment and wish him all the best for the future," said Michel Berchtold, Chairman of the Shareholders' Meeting.
SBB Deutschland GmbH has successfully positioned itself in the liberalized regional transport sector in Germany in recent years. It employs 95 people and transports approximately 14.5 million passengers annually on its network with its Flirt/GTW train fleet.
