The two vehicle inspection centers of the cantonal transport authority in the canton of Schwyz, located in Pfäffikon and Einsiedeln, are responsible for 130,000 motor vehicles and 5,700 vessels registered in the canton. Not only must the vehicle inspection process be efficient, but so too must access to the inspection hall with its three lanes.

The Schwyz cantonal traffic office is responsible for the registration of vehicles for both road and water transport. 40,000 vehicle inspections are carried out annually at its testing centers.

Fast opening and closing speeds ensure a pleasant working environment in the inspection hall. Vehicles enter and exit the hall approximately 40 times a day. The three inspection lanes are booked daily on a tight schedule. Any disruptions would result in delays and therefore financial losses.

Just over two years after the handover of the keys to the new building, Beat Reichmuth, head of the testing facility and chief expert, draws a positive conclusion. He says he is "more than satisfied" with the operation of the gates. They reliably meet all the requirements stipulated in the tender.
Meanwhile, , the manufacturer Efaflex upgraded all the gates with the new EFA-SmartConnect module. Thanks to this intelligent networking of the gate systems, have been further optimized.

With its IoT solution, Efaflex offers a solution for networked gates. The accompanying, user-friendly app enables centralized monitoring and displays the status of all gates clearly and in real time. Following the principle of diagnostics – service – maintenance, malfunctions can be prevented in a timely manner, and maintenance can be planned proactively.

Incase of a malfunction, the user can send the message directly to Efaflex via the app; communication with the service technicians is just a click away.

Since the recent introduction of the app, the SmartConnect module has been integrated into the controlsystem of almost all gates. It continuously sends status reports to the app, thus enabling the direct transmission of malfunctions or service requests authorized by the user to Efaflex.
