Metal sawing specialist Kasto has completely redesigned its saw control system. The new centerpiece for material supply is a clearly structured dashboard that graphically displays key performance indicators such as run times, downtime, current orders, and machine status. Operators can see at a glance what is currently happening.

Users can flexibly rearrange jobs and easily switch between different views, even during an ongoing edit. Simultaneously usable function windows and context-sensitive help reduce the number of clicks required and significantly speed up operation.
simplified operation
The new control system will initially be used in the KASTOwin series and subsequently extended to other saws. An optimized software architecture ensures significantly reduced loading times, faster responses to inputs, and increased machine availability.

The "Simple Mode" reduces the display to the essentials and guides even untrained users safely through the sawing process. Different user roles ensure that operators, supervisors, or maintenance personnel only receive the information relevant to their task. Individual settings, such as language, units of measurement, or preferred reports, can be personalized and facilitate onboarding.
Training made easier
A cutting plan allows you to create multiple sawing jobs quickly, clearly, and intuitively – even if they have different section lengths or complex requirements. Individual process parameters can be defined for each sawing job.

In combination with the "Optisaw light" , all sawing orders are automatically and precisely assigned to the available bars. The system not only considers the desired cut lengths but also optimizes the sequence and placement of the cuts. This ensures that each bar is used to its fullest potential and significantly reduces waste.
Just a few clicks
Even before its market launch, the new control system was tested in everyday use at Günther + Schramm in Königsbronn, where it replaced an existing saw. The southern German systems service provider operates over 100 saws and produces more than ten million saw cuts per year. "We would n't want to be without the new control system anymore"says Angelo Faraci, one of the shift supervisors. "When I'm operating three or four machines simultaneously, I have to be able to rely on the saws. (...) We need to be able to process orders quickly and reliably with just a few clicks."
