The German Federal Association of Logistics (BVL) and specialist lawyers for transport and forwarding law such as Steffen Maelicke are on the trail of fictitious contractors in the transport industry who, instead of cargo space and deceptively authentic-looking contracts, have nothing but empty air to offer.

Fake identities, manipulated company data, and—not least due to the use of artificial intelligence—increasingly sophisticated fraud methods are leading to a noticeable rise in cases of "fake"carriers and fictitious contractual partners in the logistics industry. If the supplier is not, quite literally "completely clean" criminals impersonate reputable companies or deliberately take over companies to secure contracts.
Experts say the consequences are serious, ranging from missing goods and high claims for damages to non-payment. In a webinar on June 30th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, attorney Steffen Maelicke (specialist in transport and forwarding law, Arnecke Sibeth Dabelstein) will explain the current risks, how liability scenarios are developing, and what measures companies can take to effectively protect themselves.
