The intralogistics association continues to grow

May 28, 2026

At its annual general meeting, held at the Parkhotel Langenthal, the Swiss Intralogistics Association (ILS Schweiz) presented a concise and humorous review of the past year's activities to 86 attendees. The study trip, in particular, garnered much praise once again.

Besides the organization, which was explicitly praised as "superb," and the successful exchange among the participants, a survey revealed that the program elements were perfect, the choice of hotel and restaurants "absolutely fantastic," for some "really stressful" . Hardly anyone was there for relaxation; in fact, the primary purpose was networking.

Important house number

At the 60th general meeting in Langenthal, members and guests were not only treated to a review of six decades of association work, but also to an appreciation of the role that the ILS plays as a platform for innovation, exchange and the promotion of young talent within the industry.

Even before the general meeting began, participants were treated to an exciting guest presentation. Under the title "Winning the best employees – Recruiting that really works in today's world," Fabio von Allmen of VonMedia AG took the audience on a 35-minute journey into the new world of work, exploring employer branding, social recruiting, and the expectations of Generation Z and Generation Alpha.

«Employer Branding»

Using practical examples and fascinating insights, von Allmen demonstrated how companies can successfully position themselves in today's job market and why authentic communication and modern recruitment methods are becoming increasingly important. The presentation generated great interest among the participants, sparked numerous discussions afterward, and broadened the horizons of Generation Z.

In the official part of the meeting, Peter Spycher offered himself for another term as president of the association until 2029. The members present unanimously confirmed him in his position. Stefan Güdel, responsible for education, was also re-elected to the board for another three years.

Sustainable changes

In his annual review, Peter Spycher addressed current developments in industry, trade, and logistics. Automation continues to progress rapidly and is fundamentally changing the sector. At the same time, only around 25 percent of all warehouses are automated – demonstrating the remaining potential.

Automated warehouse solutions could reduce operating costs by up to 30 percent while significantly accelerating order processing. Especially in times of increasing demands for efficiency, delivery speed, and skilled labor availability, this is a crucial competitive factor for many companies.

Made an important contribution

With great thanks and appreciation, the association bid farewell to two long-serving board members. Valentin Adelfio, from the subsidiary association Swisslifter, stepped down from the board after many years of dedicated service. Peter Spycher particularly praised his calm demeanor, leadership experience, and important contribution to the collaboration between ILS and Swisslifter.

Rudolf Mayer-Richert, who was responsible for marketing at ILS, was also bid farewell. Spycher recalled that Mayer-Richert had been the face of ILS at the "Logistics & Automation" trade fair for many years. He had organized the ILS joint stand with great dedication and ensured that the association presented itself professionally and with high visibility.

New faces

Vitalji Omelcenko of Staplermaxx was newly elected to the board, succeeding Valentin Adelfio, as was Florian Brunner of SSI Schäfer, who will now be responsible for marketing. At his final AGM as head of marketing, Rudolf Mayer-Richert looked back on the successful execution of this year's "Logistics & Automation" trade fair in Bern.

The large ILS joint stand was once again a resounding success. A total of 20 companies presented themselves there together under the association's umbrella. Nine additional companies had also expressed interest. This demonstrates the continued popularity of the format. Feedback from exhibitors and visitors was overwhelmingly positive. The alternating venues of Bern and Zurich proved particularly successful, optimally addressing different regions and target groups.

13 new companies

Since the last general meeting, 13 new companies have joined the association. The association now has a total of 181 member companies. Peter Spycher noted with satisfaction that the number of supporting members is also growing.

60th anniversary celebration in September

A special highlight is still to come for the Swiss Intralogistics Association: On Friday, September 25, 2026, the ILS will celebrate its 60th anniversary - also at the Parkhotel Langenthal.
