The appointments, it is said, are part of a comprehensive transformation within the Air & Ocean Division of the Rhenus Group. As head of the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, Hanssen will also be responsible for Greater China, Central Asia, and Turkey. He has been with Rhenus for over two decades and has made a significant contribution to the company's expansion in Asia. His leadership is characterized by operational excellence, cultural sensitivity, and a strong focus on regional growth.
Martinez has so far, as head of Global Ocean Freight, driven forward Rhenus' global ocean freight, expanded trade routes and forged strong partnerships with shipping companies.
Ideally positioned
He is ideally positioned to lead the European region – one of Rhenus' most complex and strategically important markets – into its next phase of development. He succeeds Markus Lingohr, who will retire in 2026.
Renee Toh will succeed Alberto Martinez. She has over 20 years of international experience in ocean freight and trade management, having successfully led interdisciplinary teams and developed commercially driven solutions. Prior to joining Rhenus, she was Head of Global Ocean Procurement at CEVA Logistics, where she played a key role in optimizing procurement strategies and strengthening global partnerships with shipping companies.
